The Czech railway operator České dráhy has decided to delight travel enthusiasts by introducing a "summer ticket" for train travel throughout the country. The company hopes this will encourage those planning to travel extensively in the Czech Republic during the summer holidays.
You can buy a "summer ticket" from June 15, but it can only be used from July 1 to August 31. A one-week pass costs 1,390 koruna ($64), and a two-week pass costs 1,990 koruna ($91). For children under 18, students under 26, and seniors, discounted rates of 695 ($32) and 995 ($46) CZK apply, respectively. Please note that the ticket is purchased for a specific person and cannot be transferred to another person for use.
The "Summer Ticket" allows you to travel any number of kilometers on all types of trains without restrictions, get off at any stop, and board any train. Only SC Pendolino routes require seat reservations.
In addition, České dráhy has prepared other special offers for its customers for the summer, such as discounted tickets to music festivals and reduced admission to museums and exhibitions.
