This winter, Christmas and New Year enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to stay at Santa Claus's cottage in Lapland for free. In return, they will be asked to help out at the village's official post office.
For one day, guests of the village will become full-fledged elves. They will take part in festive activities. For example, they will sort through mailboxes and stamp letters with a special Arctic Circle stamp. After work, Santa's temporary helpers will enjoy Finnish cuisine, snowmobile rides, a trip to see the northern lights, and a traditional sauna.

An exclusive opportunity to book Santa's Cabin for free will be available on Monday, December 11, at 1 p.m. at airbnb.com/santa. The stay is scheduled for three nights from December 18 to 21, 2023. According to the terms and conditions, two adults and two children can check in.
Guests are provided with free return flights to Rovaniemi from London Heathrow Airport with Finnair, as well as breakfast and dinner at the cabin itself. It is located near the post office. The guest room is decorated with traditional Lappish elements. Inside, there are items of elf clothing and accessories.

There are several rules for guests:
- Let Santa know in advance that you want to take a photo with him.
- Take off your shoes inside the hut—there are handmade Lapland rugs on the floor.
- Stick to festive elven style in clothing. A felt hat with a jingle bell paired with a tunic is welcome.
The opportunity to stay in Santa Claus Village for free is part of a charity campaign. As part of this campaign, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Special Children’s Omaiset ELO. This association supports young people with special needs in Lapland, as well as their loved ones.

Guests who book accommodation must be over 18 years of age and have a verified profile with a large number of positive reviews. For those who don't manage to book Santa's Cabin, Airbnb has prepared a useful update. A new category, "Arctic," will appear on the website. Using this filter, you can easily find igloos, cabins, and other accommodation options above the Arctic Circle.
