One of Istanbul's landmarks is once again open to visitors. After extensive restoration work, the Galata Tower is ready to welcome tourists once more. This is a significant event not only for the residents of Turkey, but also for all tourists and travelers planning to visit this beautiful city.
The restoration work included restoring the facade and spire of the building, improving its earthquake resistance, and renovating the interior.
The last restoration took place here in 1964–1967. Since then, Galata Tower has attracted huge numbers of tourists. In 2022, it was visited by more than 1.2 million people.
However, new rules apply since the opening: no more than 100 people per hour. This will preserve the unique historical site and ensure comfortable conditions for visitors. The cost of an admission ticket since April this year is €30.
