A trip to Mars and a tour to the Moon: what should tourists expect from the not-too-distant future?

The layout of our planet is gradually changing, as is our way of life. With the development of science and technology, travel in the future may become radically different: faster, more convenient, and even safer. We looked at what is already available now and what we still have to wait for.

Speed without limits

So, in the near future, we will be able to enjoy incredibly fast journeys on hyper-speed trains traveling at speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. All passengers will be seated in special capsules that move smoothly through vacuum tubes, avoiding air pressure and other problems.

"Only in science fiction," you might say. But no! In China, tests have already been completed on a system that includes such trains. And it works on the same principle: according to the Chinese scientists' idea, the transport is located in a vacuum space inside a tube, and speed is gained thanks to magnetic suspension.

And even though at this stage of development, a speed of only 130 km/h has been achieved, the test results are considered successful. There are plans to build an entire track where trains will be able to "accelerate" to the coveted thousand.

Elon Musk also saw the potential for commercializing hyperloop technology, but did not bring the project to fruition. Ultimately, Virgin Hyperloop took on the task of bringing the idea to life, focusing solely on freight transport. But perhaps this is only temporary.

Airplanes — in the past

New technologies will also affect aircraft. For example, there is already promising research into the creation of flying cars.

Judging by the promising investments in this technology, such cars will hit the market as early as 2040, and in the meantime, there are many startups trying to turn themselves into full-fledged manufacturers.

So, while Uber is still working on its flying taxi project, Germany-based Volocopter has already created what it claims to be the first unmanned aerial taxi. However, new regulations road Air traffic regulations have not yet been formulated, and the question of whether "traffic jams" exist in the air remains open.

Lunar tourism and trips to Mars

But it is not only air and ground transportation technologies that are changing the future of travel. Humanity is already so connected to space that it cannot imagine a future without further exploration. Futurologists claim that space will soon be conquered not only by researchers, but also by ordinary travelers.

Experts consider Mars to be one of the most popular destinations for travel. In their opinion, by 2050, there will be regular commercial flights to the red planet. Despite the unbearable conditions on Mars, people will strive to get there to see the landscapes of this distant planet with their own eyes.

Tourism to the moon is more realistic. Yusaku Maezawa, a billionaire from Japan, announced his plan to fly into lunar orbit with eight lucky people this year. After buying up all the available seats on the SpaceX spacecraft, Maezawa posted on his Twitter page inviting anyone interested to take part in the selection process and fly into space completely free of charge.

The project is called dearMoon. According to the billionaire himself, it provides an opportunity for people with outstanding talents to be inspired and create something new in the field of art.

Conquering space

Space flights are already a reality. This opportunity was announced by Blue Origin, a company engaged in the development of rocket engines. The organization is not well known to the general public, but it has very ambitious plans. This is not surprising, given that it was founded by Jeff Bezos, currently ranked among the top three richest people in the world according to Forbes magazine.

Virgin Galactic is also quite successful in developing space tourism. The company is already accepting applications from those wishing to participate in flights. Tourists will be able to travel into space on modular spacecraft. Anyone with $250,000 to spare will be able to have fun, enjoy weightlessness, and observe amazing landscapes.

Very soon, travel will be different from what we are used to seeing today. Speed, safety, comfort, and variety—all this awaits us in the near future. But despite scientists' predictions, new technologies, and mind-boggling innovations, one thing will remain unchanged—people's desire to travel and discover new horizons, regardless of place and time.
