When we go to the seaside, we always run the risk of forgetting something essential or, on the contrary, overdoing it and taking too much with us. On my first trip to the coast, I made the mistake of overloading my suitcase with unnecessary items, which made the trip quite tiring. But over the years of traveling, I've developed a clear and practical set for the perfect trip, which I'm happy to share with you today. If you're still undecided, use our tour selection service to go on your trip without any unnecessary worries.
Documents and finance
Be sure to take your passport and foreign passport if traveling abroad. Take photos of all documents so that you have digital copies in case you lose them. You also need health insurance, an MHI policy and possibly a driver's license if you plan to rent a car. It is better to print out your tickets and reservations, especially if you have to cross the border.
If help with paperwork is needed, you can get your visa done quickly, making it much easier to prepare for your trip.
Leisurewear
It is best to take clothes that can be easily combined with each other: T-shirts, shirts, shorts, pants and at least one warm sweater. Be sure to take swimsuits, light T-shirts, flip-flops, hats, and rubber slippers for pebble beaches. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes - this way you will avoid trouble in the form of chafed feet.
Technical accessories
A phone and a spare battery are indispensable. Don't forget headphones, chargers and a universal adapter, especially if traveling abroad. An e-book will also be a good companion on the road.
Hygiene products
Take compact travel bottles of up to 100 ml of shampoo, gel and facial cleanser. Put everything in a secure cosmetic bag to protect things from leaking. Antiseptic and body cream are essential for the heat.
Travel first aid kit
Take the bare minimum of essentials for your trip: painkillers and antipyretics, allergy and motion sickness remedies, Panthenol for burns and, of course, band-aids. Also, don't forget your personal medications.
Beach accessories
For the beach, choose a lightweight microfiber towel, sunscreen and a multifunctional beach bag. A water bottle can be useful to save money on cooling drinks.
If traveling with a pet
You will need a veterinary passport, a carrier, spare food, food and water bowls and a personal first aid kit for your pet. Check the local beach's policy on dogs in advance.
These things are best left at home
Avoid overloading: you should not take extra clothes, precious jewelry, a lot of cosmetics and dishes. Usually all this is either provided in hotels or simply won't come in handy.
How to pack a suitcase efficiently
To keep space to a minimum, roll up your clothes and place shoes and heavy items at the bottom of your suitcase. This will help you pack your trip in a compact and organized manner.
Additional tips for tourists
Check the baggage allowance on your airfare. Make sure there are no additional restrictions on entry. Learn about the culture of the place you are traveling to beforehand. And be sure to bring a compact board game for fun nights out on the beach and in the city.
